Welcome to A Tiny Art Store: My first blog post

Every building holds a story.

Sometimes it’s the house where you grew up, the one with the crooked tree out front. Sometimes it’s the wedding venue where your life changed in a day, or perhaps the first apartment you rented together, where the keys felt heavy with new independence.

We walk past structures every day, but some of them stop us. They aren't just wood and brick, they are containers for our memories.

My name is Hat Ho Dao, and welcome to my online studio.

I created A Tiny Art Store because I am obsessed with capturing the character of these places. In a world of mass production, there is something profoundly special about taking a photo of a beloved home and slowly, carefully, translating it into a handmade ink and watercolor illustration.

Why "Tiny"?

I call this shop "A Tiny Art Store" because it really is just me. It’s my desk, my favorite pens, my watercolors, and my scanner.

But "tiny" also represents my philosophy. I believe that bespoke art doesn't have to be intimidating, expensive, or out of reach. It should be accessible. A tiny piece of art can hold a massive amount of sentimental value.

Whether you live in Europe, Asia, America, or anywhere else, I want to help you put your memories on paper.

What You’ll Find Here

Right now, my primary focus is on custom house illustrations.

If you have a photo of a place that means something to you, I can turn it into a bespoke architectural portrait. I offer these in a few formats to suit your needs:

  • Original Art: The actual hand-painted traditional artwork, signed by me.

  • Digital Files: High-resolution files that you can print yourself or use digitally.

I am so excited to finally open these digital doors. This shop is a labor of love, and it is just the beginning. In the future, I plan to expand into other types of handmade goods - like wearable miniature art (stay tuned!) - and even tutorials to help you create your own art.

Thank you for stopping by my little art store. Please browse the artworks for sale, explore my portfolio, and if there is a building that tells a part of your story, please reach out for an art commission. I would be honored to draw it for you.

Warmly,

Hat Ho Dao
